iPod 5G suddenly not recognised

I have an iPod classic 5G which I manage as a regular mass storage device. I use Rockbox as its firmware so I don't need any special functions, just Winamp to recognise it as a mass storage device. It worked up to now, and suddenly it won't appear in the Devices list.
The iPod is recognised by windows, but not by Winamp.
I tried removing the blacklist lines from %appdata%/Winamp/winamp.ini [pmp_usb] entry. However, all other usb devices are detected except the iPod. What can I do?

Bump. I got Winamp to recognise it again by formatting it, but I prefer a solution rather than this. Does anyone have an idea what to do?
