Playlists and Library Completely, Inexplicably Gone
Let me start by saying that this has never happened to me before and I've been using Winamp for years.
This morning, I turned Winamp on and immediately something seemed off. The skin I use for my program is the Winamp Modern, but today it was somehow set to the default color scheme instead of the one I'd set it to. Further examining of the program showed that not only were my playlists gone, but so was every piece of music in my library. Things To Note: 1) I haven't made any changes to my computer within the past 24 hours. 2) All of my music files are right in the same folder they've always been in. 3) I was listening to music just fine yesterday. In fact, when I turned the program on this morning, the last playlist I'd been listening to was still in the playlist editor. Things I've Tried to Fix It: 1) Turning the program off and turning it back on 2) Restarting my computer to see if it was just a one-time bug 3) Re-adding everything to the library. With this one, nothing happened despite my clicking 'Add Media to Library' repeatedly. Anyone have any suggestions? |

the first thing is the info report creates a zip that should then be attached to this thread.
the second thing is that you aren't using the latest, and only supported ver with the required patches. don't update yet, jic this can be fixed, but updating makes this kind of issue much less likely to happen. my impression is whatever you had is probably lost, but maybe the info report can give us a clue to fix. if not, we will need to start u over (ur ML DB at least) from scratch, more than likely. i don't see anything unusual, unfortunately. but maybe someone else will.
at this point, you need to start rooting around in the folders where winamp keeps user info, for things like main.dat and main.idx and possibly any playlist files. it would be interesting to know if those files have data in them or not, (which one can usually tell from the filesize) you may need to manually move / delete them as well, and update to the newest version of winamp. it could be that 5.61 does not play nice with win10. these links might be relevant to your situation, or maybe not. but i'm leaning to you having to delete main.* files and start over: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=329249 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=380266 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=304613 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=375007 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=347659 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=362800 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=363050 PENN STATE Radio or http://www.LION-Radio.org/ -- BUG #1 = Winamp skips short tracks Wish #1 = Multiple Column Sorting Wish #2 = Add TCMP/Compilation editing |
