Left Wing- liberal, Democrats, stand for social welfare, believe that government should be large, and help those who cannot help themselves. The needs of society outweigh the needs of the individual.
Extremist left wingers are radical revolutionaries such as Greenpeace and Che Guevera. The extreme left is associated with communism (scientific socialism)/revolutionary socialism. Left wingers have been accused of advocating a "nanny", or welfare state.

Right Wing- conservative, Republicans, stand for free enterprise, individual liberties. Government has a small role, primarily for national security. Often propose measures to stimulate the economy, such as tax cuts. The individual is the basic unit of the nation, and the protection of his liberties is the prime objective of the state.
The extreme right wing is sometimes associated with religious zealots such as Jerry Fallwell. The idealogy of the extreme right includes an absolute free market.

actually... now that I think about it. I think I am left to center. Only thing is, I'm using the fence as a foot rest.

i'm not a fence sitter, i'm not right wing
so i guess you'd call me left,
but not really

i'm in the weird political system that thinks that the independant is good to go w/

though in canada, i vote liberal or ndp, usually

I'm independent.
Some things on the left I believe.
Some things on the right I believe.
But all things I believe, I believe with conviction.
I sat on a fence one time but the stupid fence broke.

I voted for left. This is kinda similar to the capitalism vs. socialism poll.
