Cannot play Audio CD's in WinAmp with Win7/64

OK, from the top!

No, I do not currently subscribe to Pro, though I'd be willing to consider it.
WinAmp 5.63
No plugins, fresh install 4-5 days ago
Asrock Z77 Mobo
i5-3570K CPU and 8 gigs RAM (Samsung 4Gx2 MV-3V4G3D/US)
External USB audio box, Encore ENMAB-8CM
EVGA NVidia GTX680
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, SP1 (fresh install a week ago)
DirectX 11

And I'm not sure which installation type, it's not Pro and I didn't install the bundle. How do I determine this?

OK, so, here's the problem. WinAmp just plain doesn't seem to see the audio. I think I have the file associations fixed in Windows. But in WinAmp, when I do Ctrl-P, and look under General Preferences, File Types, CDA is not on the list.

WinAmp opens itself up when I insert a music CD, but then it shows me a blank folder view of the D: drive.

I can play music CD's in Windows Media Player, but frankly I'd rather jump naked on a huge pile of rusty razor blades than use a Microsoft app with my music.

I am in a state of high frustration here, can anyone help?
