Hello - I currently have a stream running at www.locomotiondj.com/radio.html. I pay $15.00 through Icyshout.com - do I not need to do this with shoutcast 2.0? I have looked through the setup files many times over, but it looks very confusing on how to set it up. Is there an easier way to do this? The current version that I use now, was very easy to set up. It was just a simple plugin for winamp..

if you're using the dsp to connect to the service then you can use the dsp still even with the upgrades made to the plug-in as long as you set the correct mode for the plug-in which by default will attempt to use the v2 modes - i've no idea if the service you've linked to supports v2 DNAS servers or not (so i cannot really comment on it).

as for not needing it, it depends on what you're needing as moving to things completely yourself then you'd have to look into having a server you run and dealing with all of the bandwidth, etc as is needed so maybe it is easier to keep with a service (though i'm new to all of this so hopefully someone else will be able to give a bit more information on such things).
