Winamp and the K-lite Codec Pack

What I am trying to do is keep all my codecs in the very well known K-Lite pack but replace the main player of Windows Media Player Classic with Winamp as Windows media player 11 and the windows player for vista have caused several problems so I came here.

Is this possible? I tried this once before and several videos that would normally work in WMPC did not function properly in winamp despite my best efforts.

Thoughts?

you just need to add file extensions to the nullsoft directshow decoder.

winamp has its own decoders and also the directshow decoders (wmp only supports directshow) so you need to tell winamp what files to support nativly and what to use directshow with.

preferences(ctrl+p)-->input-->nullsoft directshow
