Program that will import playlist files and let you burn them as .mp3 or data discs?

I know Winamp Pro doesn't have the feature, which I must say is extremely dissapointing (though you guys are still light years ahead of the competition, keep up the good work), so are there any media players/burning programs that will allow me to import a playlist and burn it as a data/.mp3 disc?

I must be missing something. Is that a guess or a statement? I've never seen that option before. Whenever I drop a playlist file into either Nero or Roxio it just treats it as another file.

It's a statement. I just opened an .m3u file and made an mp3 cd with it. Any more questions?

I also can't seem to get this to work. I have Winamp 5.04 and Nero 5.5. Do I need Nero 6 or something?

It works fine when burning an audio disc, but I can't seem to find a way to burn a playlist to a data/.mp3 disc.

Because playlist files contain no audio data. Copy the actual MP3 files that the playlist refrences to the Data CD and burn that.

I realize how to do this manually, I have been doing it for a while now and it is a pain, because 1. the files are rearranged by filename in alphabetical order, and 2. this is a particular pain when the files are in various folders all over the drive.
I've already got my playlist ready to go in Winamp and saved as an M3U.
Data cds can hold huge amounts of raw MP3 music.
So, basically what I'm looking for is a way to create a file playlist and burn this order of files straight to a CD in data/.mp3 format.
Unless I'm mistaken there is no way to do this with Winamp and/or Nero?

Yes, but if I am creating an MP3 cd (a data disc, non-audio cd) it adds the M3U as a file. How can I burn a pre-defined playlist of files to a data disc?

I said Nero Express, not Nero Burning ROM. look in the start menu for it.

start Nero Express, choose Music > MP3 Disc and click on (+) Add

Oh yes!! Sweet, thank you, that's what I was looking for. But it still alphabetizes them by filename, I guess there is no way around that?

uh.. it'd a DATA disc, of course it arranges it by file name.

If you want the tracks in a specific order, you need to re-name each of the songs to include a two or three digit number at the begining of the file.

The Temptations - My Girl.mp3

becomes

0001 - The Temptations - My Girl.mp3

Send a message via ICQ to dead-beat
just searched this thread out, really helpful as its just what i wanted to do.

would be a nice feature to add to winamp itself tho.

i use mp3 data disks in my car stereo, 150 odd tracks is just so much better than the normal 18 - 20 odd and it also means if my cd's are stolen they are so much easier to replace

anyways cheers guys.

iTunes.... (you just have to tell it to burn mp3-cd's in the preferences)

hm, haven't tried myself, but i guess it doesn't support folders. I still use Nero, becouse my daily mp3cd is allways overburned.
