Logitech G15v2 lcd song txt display not working

HI,

Another issue from me, for some reason my keyboard LCD display dosnt work anymore.. It happened when i returned back to this 5.666 from 5.65.

I reinstalled lgps 8.50, installed newer 8.51, uninstalled winamp - removed its preferences and then it kinda started to work, but on next restart it showed "logi media display" txt again..

I went back and forth between 5.65 >> 5.666 and now it doesnt work on older 5.65 either..

Should I report this to logitech forums?

yes as we've not intentionally done anything to break the plug-in but it's down to the plug-in author to maintain compatibility with the Winamp releases.

Ok thanks for the quick answer, I will post there.

But Im kinda confused why it worked ok with the same lgps 8.50 and 5.65, but now it doesn't or very rare?

for example WMP11 works fine, KMplayer sometimes.

i don't know as i've no knowledge of how the plug-in even works, if it uses recent 5.x api or if it's using hacky 2.x methods (which can explain it being flakey and might also be happening if you're seeing issues with KMplayer which i assume is using the same plug-in dll).

Its a exe file, this newer lgps calls for it and i can enable/disable on the fly in main LGPS control panel LCD menu..

Anyhow I made a thread there, but they're kinda lazy checking it.. Will see how it goes.

Tnx again

ah, it runs externally and just grabs the Winamp window title (that's really crude v2.x method). will need http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins from you to try to determine what's causing the issue.

try running Winamp in it's safe mode as not sure if out_burst.dll and out_openal.dll are doing something they're not meant to do. if it's still not right under safe mode, remove UnicodeTaskbarFix.w5s from the Winamp\System folder and see if that helps (that is meant to correct against such issues but something else could be causing the issue which it's not able to detect and correct).

I just went ahead and uninstalled each sound output, first openAL still the same, then Audioburst v2.1 and bingo!

Weird how it started doing it now, but I did see a newer version v2.2 on their website that had some plugin compatibility fixes.

So happy now, thanks again

will have to see if i can get UnicodeTaskbarFix.w5s to sort out issues with output plug-ins as well (i don't think i enabled handling for output plug-ins as they're not meant to subclass Winamp *shrugs* ).

[edit]
i've got it trying to process output plug-ins unless it's how the used method is exported is using the type my component doesn't support.

I didnt try to remove that unicodeTaskbarFix file, only these two output files..

Imo its just this PowerFX plugin fault, last time I used Audioburst was at win8.0.

Edit:
Ok, I tested both powerfx2.10 and new v2.21 and its the same until I uninstall it completely out of winamp.

But it doesnt matter, ASIO dll or OpenAL wasapi sounds better and everything works properly.

that's because of how they're doing things which isn't correct or compatible with what they should be doing since the Winamp v5.34 release over 6 years ago.

Hi,

Small update from me, I decided to install US only version (winamp5666_full_en-us) and now it works with that powerFX plugin, shows lcd txt or taskbar icon hoover txt normally.

Before I had winamp5666_full_all and I have international keyboard/lang but US windows, guess it all somehow confused it

what 'build' are you using? as the current build #3516 has some extra tweaks over build #3512 (as you were using) which were meant to help with the issue you were having.
