Album artwork affects MP3 player performance?

Album artwork is nice, but is it worth it?

I have a theory. I do not know if any of this apply, but it makes sense.

By adding artwork to MP3 files:
- files take more space
- longer loadings
- slows down overall MP3 player performance
- consumes more battery

Because: The more more - the slower?

Let's discuss: Would it, or would it not, be worth adding artwork to your MP3 player?

depends on personal preferences

Although a small image like 150x150 really can't hurt, I still don't include it because I just don't care about album art.

People still have space issues in this day and age? I carry more memory around with me these days than I can shake a big stick at....

1st mp3 player ten years ago = 128mb

Currently carrying around a 64gb iPad and 32gb of storage on my phone, oh and a 8gb memory stick as well, you know, just in case I get caught short...

I have no need or desire to have album art, so I remove all of it. I've got an old 20GB Creative mp3 player and my new WP7 phone has 16GB of internal storage, so space really has nothing to do with it (of course, my old Creative mp3 player can't display art anyway). When I'm listening to music, my eyes are usually doing other, more useful things. So for me, album art is relatively pointless. Music is all about the sound, anyway.
