.wma opening problems

i can´t open some .wma files (dont know why and dont know on what it does depend if i can play them or not)

... then mircrosoft is contacted by the i-net ... with the message that i need a license for playing that file

... i cant open it only with winamp, but i can with windows media player ..

how can i repair it ?

the system i use is windows xp service pack 2 ... xp antispy doesnt help (or maybe i dont use it right?)

The first thing you need to do is confirm that you are using Winamp 5.094 Full. Only the Full (or Pro) version supports WMA playback, and only 5.08e to 5.094+ supports drm-license acquisition.

DJ Egg meant that you have to make sure you are using 5.094 Full:
Right-click Winamp > Nullsoft Winamp... > at the bottom you will see the version number

Right-click Winamp > Options > Preferences > Input >
Do you see Nullsoft WMA plug-in v2.11 listed there?

And the plugin does have a version number of 2.11? (sorry, just want to make sure...)

If that's not the problem, I'm not sure what you could try... I don't have copy-protected WMA files myself...

Anyone?
