No advertising will be played

Hey,
I use SHOUTcast on Linux with version 2.6.0.753/posix(linux x64). Unfortunately, there is no advertising being downloaded or played at the moment.
However, a connection to the YP can be established.

Does anyone have the same problems?

I have the problem again. 187 listeners and only 1 is listening to commercials.

But you must imagine that I have no alternative. And to pay 240€ for SHOUTcast for Business is also a lot.

I'm just thinking about getting a french server and hope that it will work better.

I don't believe so. In my opinion there seems to be a server side issue every now and then at Shoutcast. The lack of support even makes 120€ for premium too expensive.

Really! I now have a server at OVH and 30 out of 190 people listen to ads!
If SHOUTcast now gets its turn, I will stay!

I never had any issues with people getting ads. Except for the time, every two weeks, where no ads at all are played.

The current problem is only the YP again.
Since this morning continuous YP errors, which is why Targetspot does not work yet, because the stream is not yet public.

To activate each stopset of ads, all you need to do is play a 2:00 minute MP3 file with the tag "Advert:" in the artist and title. Note that the audio in this MP3 file will be heard by folks in countries that don't have ads running. However the audio from the MP3 will be covered by ads in the US, several European countries - anywhere your station is being monetized. What that means is that you should include audio in the file (or files) that you want people to hear if they're not hearing ads during those 2 minutes.


this could also indicate that some of your listeners are not in countries that support the adds. , as stated above ( sticky thread about this, top of the forumpart) only the US and several European countries have adds.

You are welcome, too bad you have only German listeners.
My stream has listeners from all over the world.
Did a quick IP check this morning and it went from Germany to Korea and from the USSR to the USA.

Problem: I keep getting YP errors.
So there's not even a commercial running, because I'm still in the status stream is currently up but is waiting on a directory response.

I'm asking myself if Shoutcast for Business receives answers on support requests and if the ad injection (not replacement) is working. 7 days of trial is not very much to do an experiment.

I gotta be honest with you:

I haven't tested SHOUTcast for Business because it is just too expensive. I still have SHOUTcast on my Linux server and there are 5 out of 190 people receiving ads.

I would like to use SHOUTcast for Business, but I don't see the point of spending 240€ per month. (Because of the German taxes)

What I do not understand about SHOUTcast:
I would pay 50€ per month if I get support for it and the advertisement works as it should. (In addition, the YP should also work).

But instead, SHOUTcast ignores customers and makes sure that radios simply go to other providers.

@Klaas: Would you like to write me via DM why you are no longer at Ab***Cast? I thought you said everything worked back then.

I opened a support case on the 31st of October 2019. Since then no response on the ad delivery issues. Not even Targetspot or Audiovalley can help. Very sad.
