just a quick question.
does having too many plugins installed slow up winamp on start up?

In a word, yes.

More specifically, any plug-ins that have to load at Winamp start-up slow it down.

just how much of an effect comes down to how well the system can load them into memory and also how they're coded since ones that do a lot on init will cause a longer loading time where as ones that delay their loading will have less of an initial impact upon the system. at the end of the day loading stuff will always give a speed decrease since hard drives are slow compared to RAM
