My first try at winamp3 skinning!

Orange Amp Progression
This is the first skin ive ever tried to do so go easy on me Hope it doesn't resemble any current wp3 skin but there are so many it very well could lol If this was ever to be finished i guess i would need a coder since im pretty much clueless on that part lol
Thanks sparkyx

Aight, spar-key, (Best nicholson impression), here's the deal. That's a really crispy design, indedd, I love it. But you need to factor in Control buttons. (play, pause, stop, back, etc.) My suggestion would be to have an option to toggle between the vis or the controlbuttons and something else to fill the space. But the Songtitle thing has a great look, I really like that. Hell, you could actually put the Cbuttons at the top where the Vis stops. But it's a really great design... 9.5 pts.

they are very tiny....to make them perhaps a bit bigger, merge the play buutton to be a play/pause button. then u can spread it out alil more. i like it. u were able to incorpate the necessary features but still kep teh origional idea prety much intact. i'm looking forward to seing this progress.

[furthermore]
is there a reason you have two shuffle buttons?

Not too shabby, but it still seems like you're dedicating too much space to the vis. No offence intended, but people like to listen to the music more than they look at it. Maybe use some of that space for songfile info, or a clock, or the thinger, or just make it multipurpose. I actually like the cbuttons, but that's also because I normally use zxcvb on the keyboard as opposed to the mouse.

ok, here is my basic idea. its loppy, but i did it really fast. of couse crossfasde would be the same font as the origional, it was jsut easier to do this with some random font. i put eh c-buttons on teh buttons, but i think i it would look better if peraps it is jsut the symbols like you haev. you can also fill up space with the eject button liek you have. i think the the shuffle, cross, and rep shoudl all b together tho...

the thinger could go in the corner where RLF put the PL, EQ, ect buttons. that would be different. will teh EQ show up where the vis is?

So that's how you think of me? Someone that critisizes new-b's and calls them idiots? I've never called anyone here idiots. Point out where I was mean, please and lemme correct my behavior.

nevermind, i'm not starting another argument with you in someone else's thread. all i'm saying is that the general feeling around here is that you've gotten a huge head, and your comments on others' skins are more flam-orentated than constuctive critisism. that's all i ahve to say about that, back to the skin.

ok, just one last question (not flaming)

where have I been flame-oriented? or is it just my general behavior? I NEED to know! I've never intintionally been mean to anyone, I give CC to skins that need improvement. Just because I say "I don't like this skin... " and give an explaination doesn't mean I'm flaming or being harsh or whatever. Its contructive critisism. And some people here can't take it without being offended, or getting all defensive... like vag. I told him what's wrong with his skin and expressed my opinion. Not all comments are possitive ones you know.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, exhibit A:

-The edges are jagged
-The color themes are so bright and yucky
-the down states for the buttons are messily done and are not correct.
-I don't like the eye-candy filter you put on my LCD
-there were 3 errors when loading
-I still can't see the main player because something is wrong with the color themes, like matt_69 said, cover it all up.
-and even when you open up the CT window... how the hell are you supposed to switch? There's no switch button.
Well.. no offense but I don't think that you're cut out for skinning, you need help in graphics and coding.

Loose the bevel on the LCD imo, it looks funky.. it'd look good if you left it without FX/.. but hell, who am I to judge, it's your skin

You've got one of two options. Either sliders and three buttons, ON/off, auto, and presets. Where you have a background and a thumb for the slider, or spline mode, where you just have the image of the EQ and invisible sliders. Soundwave uses the spline, the defaultskin and a lot of others use the first method.

Just copy that and put it in your skin in player-normal.xml, add a tag that says <group id="eqgroup" x="xcoordinant" y="ycoordinant" />, and define the images appropriately in elements.xml. Is that too much? I can give you an example if you need it.
