Your Favorite Chillout Music

What makes you relax and unwind? I doesnt matter if it's rap, rock, folk, classical o electro. I listen everything except for teen-pop & euro disco.

Since all I usually listen to is internet radio,
these two stations are my favorites for chillout:

Radio42

Soma's Groove Salad or Beat Blender

both from Shoutcast.

If I'm angry, there's one techno song or two that gets me calm, but otherwise I listen to techno music. Works very well.

"Welcome to the Island of people who know too much."..."Did you really think balloons would stop him?!"
See what I'm listening too.

Eric Satie - Gnossiennes
Anything by Satie really. Beautiful sparse solo piano music.

Another favourite is Iarla O'Lionaird - Seven Steps to Mercy. 'Sean Nos' singing. Always find solo performances are the best.

Playing your own music beats all.

Sometimes Opera, sometimes New Found Glory, or classical. Softcore punk, melodic rap, trance, or goa. It's all good.

I especially love the tracks from the FF7 soundtrack. Video Game music is great to calm to.

Way Old Motown , like Marvin Gaye, makes me happy! And techno makes me calm, Prodigy, Chemical Bros. etc. (Think Ritalin)

If i need to calm down fast, I listen to one song, Southside by Gwen Steffani and Moby. if I don't need to cool down fast, I just listen to what I normally listen to, after about 3-4 songs, I'm fine. the only exception to this was when I got fired, it took a 1.5hr car ride from MD to NJ, lots of speeding, and some very loud music to get me calm after that event.

Always felt that Nick Drake was touched by genius but never quite fitted this world. Very reflective music for sure but ultimately too sad for relaxation. I really need to be in the right mood for his stuff.

I listen to some stuff from Disturbed, Godsmack, and System Of A Down...Sure, it may be music that would probably get you hyped-up, but I need to wear off some energy first before I can chill out...

Then it's some live solos of Aaron Lewis from the Family Values Tour, usually the one featuring Fred Durst called "Outside", or the Pearl Jam cover to "Black"...Ultra-mellow!

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

I forgot his name though...

All of the songs on my playlist. Since they all relax me no matter what mood or situation I'm in and because I only like songs that are completely relaxing to me. And there is absolutely no hard rock or any kind of heart pounding songs on my playlist. Well only one anyways.
