new computer bit a commin' commin'
Just placed an order for
1 x OCZ Premier 512MB DDR400 PC3200 CL 2.5-3-3-7 With Heatspreader and 1 x AMD Athlon XP3200+ 400mhz FSB 512 L2 Cache Barton CPU - OEM yay \o/. Finally I will have a pc that actually uses 400mhz memory instead of crappy 266. Damn my Xp2100+ for having crap fsb speed. 1 gig of 400mhz memory and a faster processor. I shall be knocking back SETI units pretty quick now I hope. "We think science is interesting and if you disagree, you can fuck off." |

Does your motherboard support it?
Is your XP2100+ a thoroughbred b/tbred-a or palomino? If it's a t-bred b and it's not multiplier locked you could probably overclock it to 200x11 (same as a 3200+) and have 95% of the performance. |

It's a palomino and I've already tried unlocking it. But given how crap palominos are for overclocking I doubt I'll get 300MHz out of it. My motherboard does support it - it's an Abit NFS-7S.
