SERIOUS trouble with Winamp player!

Hello folks, I used winamp since a lot, but, in my New PC, there is a really bad problem when I install it, it messes up my sound, not instantly tough;

After installing Winamp,

everytime the song PAUSES then PLAYS since the point where it was paused; a LOUD glitch plays instead of the song, like a huge FIZZZZ , like when you can't catch a TV channel, you know what I mean. Then you PAUSE again, and when you PLAY it's ok (sometimes, some others you need to do more pauses)

But, this applies to GAMES and WEB SITES too!! , everything that pauses a sound and then plays it again, makes this glitch.

I don't know how to fix this, maybe UNINSTALLING winamp and using WMP or iTunes but, I like MilkDrop ....

I don't want to uninstall it, im afraid that the problem will continue, and that would mean to REFORMAT my PC to fix this.
If there is anything know to fix this please post, this is driving me mad already! I can't put the sound in the volume I want because It might go crazy if it is paused for any reason.

If games and other programs are showing the same behavior then it doesn't sound like an issue related to Winamp.

Some things to take a look at though:

Start > Run > dxdiag > OK > Sound Tab:
Reduce the "DirectSound Acceleration" slider (to Basic)


Also, check with your computer manufacturer for updated sound card drivers. Otherwise, Full System Specs:

(i've read the entire post, im going to EDIT those info later, but for now:..)

BUT, that problem starts to happen ONLY after I install Winamp, happened with an old winamp some time ago too, then moved to vista, used WMP 10 since it was cool enough, then Vista + HL2DM literally BURNT my GFX card (GeForce 7300GT), warranty gave me a better one, and this time I put Windows XP with service pack 3, WMP sucked hard so I installed winamp, the problem started when pausing my songs, and then in SOME (not every) sites that play music (myspaces for example).

i'd suggest turning off 24bit support if you have it on(sound quality difference is next to nil anyway)

and update your drivers

your nvidia drivers are ancient(about a year old)
soundcard even worse looking at the info you gave us, drivers are 3 years old.
