Playlist Copy help, files corrupted?

Ok, so it all started off simple, I wanted a specific folder to copy just the mp3 files off of my m3u playlists to my usb to play on my car stereo to see if that would work. Well i tried using windows player, which at all didnt work, and a friend told me to take all my music out of its original folders and place them all in one big folder, than in windows she said to select the file location of all files within the playlist and cut and paste them all at once to the folder desired. well this didnt do anything rather than confuse me more.
After doing a little research i found out you could download plug-ins for winamp to help you do this, well i tried several different ones, like playlist copier and playlist unpack, and they all said that "some files couldn't be unpacked. Their filenames are not correct." And after even trying to sync the files, they still would not, im guessing for the same reason.
Now i see the problem that my mp3 files say they were stored in a folder that no longer exists. Now i feel stupid about this and was wondering if there was a way to reverse this rather than deleting and redownloading 2000 songs. Any help is appreiciated! Thank You!
