Media Library Migration

I've recently upgraded my version of Windows from WinXP to Win7. However, all of my music (and ratings) are saved on another partition separate from the two. Can I pull a particular file or file(s) from the WinXP partition to not have to index, rate, etc everything all over again?

I saw another forum thread that mentioned a main.idx and main.dat file that are under the appdata folders for Winamp and tried simply copying those, but then Winamp crashes when it tries to launch.
WinXP Path: D:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Application Data\Winamp\Plugins\ml
* Also contains a "main.dat.n3w00000734" file, if that makes any difference. I assume it's a backup of some sort
Win7 Path: C:\Users\Justin\AppData\Roaming\Winamp\Plugins\ml

If I need to tweak the files so that they play nice under the new OS/path/etc, then I can do that, I just need to know what and where to change

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The problem with a backup tool is that I don't have the old WinXP partition active any more. I can still pull files from it, but I can't run the old version of Winamp (under XP) to be able to *backup*.

(I had tried to set it up as a dual-boot, but the Win7 install decided to change the Win7 partition to C:, which screwed my WinXP partition that used to be C

Unless the backup tool asks you where your core configuration files are, and then packages the backup configuration files from that, it wouldn't work.

no harm trying it.

if it doesn't find the old install, post to the thread asking them if it can be made to look for old installs if the default isn't found, or pointed to them.
