Playing .asx in winamp?

I was wondering how to play .asx files in winamp(ex: http://di.fm/hardcore_low.asx ). They open in Windows Media Player, and i dont like WMP.

Hi

It helps if you provide a valid link . . . and not a dead one like yours.

The standard procedure for playing Microsoft's proprietry ASX playlist streams is:

Right click the link and select "save target as".
Save the ASX file to a folder on your hard drive.
Open it in Notepad.
Copy & paste the stream url into Winamp's add/open url dialog

If the stream in the asx playlist reads as:

<entry>
<ref href="mms://site.com:port/"/>
</entry>

Then the correct format to use in Winamp would be:

mms://site.com:port/.wma

(Note, requires Winamp 5.04 Full to work)

ASX is a playlist file. Download the playlist file to your hard drive and load it in to a text editor. Among the various information you should see a mms link. Copy the link and add /.wma to the end. Add the link to Winamp's Open URL box (Ctrl+L or Ctrl+'Open/"Eject" button').
