Nostradamus predicts antiseptic surgery!
(For the anal-retentive sombre accountant-types out there, this is a parody.)
Remember that famous quatrain from Nostradamus that have been interpreted as predicting Hitler's rise? Bestes farouches de faim fleuves tranner Plus part du champ encore Hister sera En caige de fer le grand sera traisner Quand rien enfant de Germain observa Beasts wild with hunger will cross the rivers, The greater part of the battle will be against Hister. He will cause great men to be dragged in a cage of iron, When the son of Germain observes nothing. People such as Erika Cheetham would like you to believe that "Hister" means "Hitler", and "Germain" refers to "Germany". That's where the error lies. But now I reveal this to you:

Nostradamus' quatrains are so vague that you can take a stanza, twist it a bit here and there, and make it fit multiple historical events with little effort. The resulting "prophecy" is whatever the interpreter wants to read into the quatrains. The same problem plagues Michael Drosnin's claim that there are hidden messages in the Bible. Nobody seems to get the point though. ![]() |
