a riddle/question

This question came up in psychology a week ago.:
What's the first thing you know?

there is an answer but it's incredibly hard to get right. it took the class a week to figure out and i was the one who got it right. im so proud

btw, the answer is not "you mommy's name"
good luck.

Google's most popular answer appears to be "Ole Jed's a millionaire", but I doubt that was the answer you were looking for.

I'm guessing...
The first thing you know, independant from your mother,
is how to breathe.
Because that's the first thing you do immediately,
on your own, as soon as your little head pops out,
before anything else you do.
Just a guess.

Don't you have to be slapped first by the doctor before you start breathing? I would say that the first thing you know is pain

An excellent introduction to life, if you ask me.

I agree...there's got to be a punchline to this.
For me...the first thing I knew was how to be late for breakfast.
Like a week late.
My mom was about to explode.

I don't think you can safely claim that there is an answer, because it's incredibly hard to get into the mind of a baby. Also, "existence" is a higher order concept, one which an infant cannot understand.

Also, you need to define "know". Do you mean acquired knowledge, or something instinctual, such as the gag reflex and swimming?

Fair enough Ian, but you have to understand.
After all the post pumping you did, and bragging about it,
even a comical reference to it now will be taken wrong.
It's better to just let the "post pump" reference die,
even if you are joking.
I'm just trying to help you out, ok?

indeed it has nothing to do with psychology... but my psyc. professor asked it so i figured it had to do with actual psychology... but it turned out to be quite opposite

it was a test to prove that people overthink things...
it probably doesnt make sense unless you've seen the show

I say we make this thread similiar to a Q and A, but with riddles.

Easy starter: What walks on four legs in the morning, two in the afternoon, and three at night?
