server status error
I get this error on my server start on the two mount points i have. 24 and 64kbps
********************************* Status: Unable to connect to the Directory. The server will behave like it is private. ********************************* or ********************************** Status: Waiting on a Directory response ********************************** How can i have the two mount points /stream and /stream24 to be public and listed on shoutcast directory. And if possible make the /stream24 the default. server details ip: 37.187.79.153 port: 5130 Thanks |

what are the specific YP errors being reported in the DNAS's log? as there are some noted issues in the important sticky thread in relation to the sale and migration of SHOUTcast off AOL's hosting which are related to the status message the DNAS is reporting.
when the DNAS is able to connect to the Directory (subject to knowing what errors it is experiencing) then the streams will be public as the DNAS is running like it is private so people can still connect to the streams. Quote:

I've resolved the default part of it. Created a link to both streams on the website. I'm not listed on shoutcast directory. still get the error below Quote:

yes, that's exactly what was needed. it appears you're seeing the known issue for some DNAS where it just fails to connect to the YP servers (which we're still trying to determine the cause of), but the second part is a configuration issue in that the authhash which is setup for the stream is not valid (this bit is simpler to resolve compared to the first issue).
so before i suggest anything to do, are you able to access the config file for the DNAS? |

It's now showing public, and listed on shoutcast directory. Didn't do anything.

we know that something is causing the touch requests to fail (as per the sticky thread) and are doing what we can to try to diagnose the issue but when we don't see the request in _any_ of the access logs to our servers, it's pretty hard to determine a cause of the issue.
so that is why it is flipping between public and Unable to connect to the Directory. The server will behave like it is private. as the DNAS is trying to maintain the listing but if the YP servers don't respond then it's going to do what it's doing. i don't know how else to explain it as the point of those messages is to make it obvious that the DNAS is _still_ working, it's just the listing which is not necessarily going to be working. for the 470 error, you might be able to go to the 'server login' for the DNAS and then use the manual remove option to allow you to create a new authhash for the stream. |

Another thing is if i i'm broadcasting with winampp, album art are not uploaded to the server
on the Nullsoft in output tab, the artwork tab, i checked send in-stream artwork and send artwork from the playing file (if available)... But still album art does not come up. Thanks. |

according to the DNAS 'next song' information, it looks like you've connected as a DJ to the auto-dj (sc_trans) and that doesn't support relaying the artwork to the DNAS in the mode being used.
it will only currently work if you're connected to the DNAS directly. |

On the dj mode the artwork works.
But once i connect with the DNAS the artwork will bring a "? artwork" So how do you suggest i go about it? now i'm getting this error Status: Not listed - Empty authhash |

in addition to what Bryon said, i'm lead to believe that the artwork screenshot is a Centova based feature and is unlikely to be using what is provided from the input (especially if you're doing it via sc_trans as i've explained earlier in this thread).
however not knowing what is being used for their service, they could also access the artwork from the DNAS (or attempt to) incase that has received updates which are not detected from the connected source software). though really this is something for your host / Centova to check and implement support for as needed (as i've done about what can be done other than via a sc_trans update to have the official tools pass through artwork if provided). |

Hello, Please i will like to know, I have a dynamic IP does it affects the status of the server
for over 2weeks now my server status remains Unable to connect to the Directory. The server will behave like it is private. If i try to update or remove the authhash all i see is "processing... this may take a while". And nothing happens. Thanks |

did you attempt to follow _any_ of the steps i'd already said for how to get the stream listed again? as waiting 2 weeks to say it's still not working is not helpful for either of us.
