By default, Winamp enables context menu items in the Windows Explorer. That means when you'll right-click a folder in the Windows Explorer some Winamp options will pop up. "Add to Winamp's Bookmark list" for example.

Some people want to get rid of those options but don't exactly know how to do it. Well, it's quite easy to do. No messing around with rather complex programs like the Windows Register Editor or something equal.

Just start Winamp and do the following:

Open the Winamp "Preferences" by pressing CTRL + P (or using the context menu options => Preferences).

Then select "File types" and uncheck the box "Show Winamp in directory context menus in Windows Explorer".

Then just close the "Preferences" and you're done! All those "nasty" options have been removed from the Explorer context menu.

If you have followed these instructions but the directory context menus still remain, you should check this thread for further help:

PS. This F.A.Q. entry is suitable for Winamp 2.x and Winamp 5. The screenshots are taken from Winamp 5. Procedure is the same for Winamp 2.x.
