5.32 Pro crashes when updating ID3 tags

Hi,
I've got 180 gigs of tunes that I'm trying to sort out ID3 tags on. Files are on a separate partition (D:) of the same 400 gig RAID 0 drive. Winamp is installed by default to C:\program files.

At random times while updating these tags, the program crashes. (Winamp has encountered an error and must close..) At times I'm doing several files and changing genres and/or artist, and at times I'm doing a single file. Doesn't matter if I'm doing ID3V1 or ID3V2 or both. Doesn't matter if I'm doing it via "View File Info.." or "Edit Selected Items". Doesn't matter if I'm playing songs when updating the tags or not. Upon restarting, it works fine on the file/files that just errored, and eventually errors on another file later on. I'm finding it hard to get through a gigabyte without the error.

Anyone else seeing this problem or know of a fix for it?

Event Viewer shows:
Faulting application winamp.exe, version 5.3.2.1003, faulting module out_kb51chn.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00002010.

I'm using the default modern skin and have no 3rd party plug-ins installed. I've tried clean installs several times to no avail. I can't say if this is specific to version 5.32 as I'm embarrassingly behind on these ID3 tags. :-s

System Specs:
Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6
Intel 805D @ 4.0GHZ
2 x 1 Gig Crucial Ballistix PC6400-2 3-4-4-8 @ 2.1v
XP Pro 32 bit SP2, completely updated
Leadtek PX7900GTX TDH Extreme
Onboard Realtek HD sound
DirectX version 5.03.2600.2180, shows no problems found

Thanx in advance.

The faulting module out_kb51chn.dll is a 3rd-party plugin :/

OK thanx much for the speedy reply.

That would have to be the surround sound plug-in, which is the only way I could get it to work on 5.22 with my current hardware (also the only plugin I've ever used). Must have stayed installed with the fresh install as I didn't delete the Winamp folder. Funny that it crashes even when I'm not playing music, and never crashes if I'm not editing ID3 tags, but I'll leave that up to you experts. ;-)

Apparently that problem still isn't fixed on 5.32, as uninstalling the plugin also reverted my Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 back to 2 channel sound again. Realtek and Windows are both configured for 5.1 sound and work correctly with every other application. Please tell me there's a new fix for this. I'd rather have Winamp crash intermittently when editing tags than be stuck with only 2 channel sound. :-)

Multiple Speaker Output

out_kb51chn.dll is still a third-party plugin and not supported. If it is causing Winamp to crash then contact the plugin author.

Yea, well I'd already read that and it doesn't work. That's where I found the link for the plug-in, which does work.

Thanx anyway.
