best setting's

lo all
ok just got everything up and running,prob is it's skipping alot.
so need to know wots the best setting to have and output device to use,in the winamp preferences??also buffer setting's for meee to use and me listner??
is it best for my listner to alter his settings in anyway?to improve it.i am running a 736 p3 with 256 mem and o/s ME,ac97sound card.i know i wont get the best results as im using a 56k modem.but its skipping with just 1 listner i have

I assume you are taling about SHOUTcast.

1 listener @ 24kbps. 32kbps, MAYBE.

Really, you can't SHOUTcast on a dial-up connection.
