Would I be right in Thinking that
"New: New random number generation for playlist shuffle" Is referring to the New JTFE Version? ![]() |

nope, the jtfe in 5.094 is a hex patched version of 0.96ff (should have been marked as 0.96fg but benski was sloppy) to fix the DEP issue on XP systems. the random number generator fix is something totally different

This is a bit of a weird time to bring it up, but whenever, I go on 'Menu's And Button's' Tab, in the JTFE version budled with Winamp, Winamp crashes, and it then crashes Dr. Watson...

if you do a defaults or completely clear out the jtfe ini section in winamp.ini then it won't crash. seems to be down to a change in 0.97R but since i've not done full regression tests with the newer jtfe builds i sort of expected some issue. to be honest i recommend 0.97R over 0.96ff/g anyway (despite the slight issues with the newer builds)

I'm just gonna stay with this build for now, as Build 11, of 0.97R is causing me real problems.

Reboot?
I installed v5.094 over v5.08c and for the first time ever, Winamp wanted me to reboot after the installation.
Why is that? /lf |

Dang. For some strange reason, one of the fixes hasn't made it into the distro:
- Fixed: Album names with non-alphanumeric character behave better (Listed in Known Bugs as: -[gen_ml] issues with # in album name (info)) Oh well, that maybe gives a better reason for new builds... There's a typo in whatsnew.txt (vulernability > vulnerability, plus the asterisks are missing at the beginning of each new entry), gen_jumpex.dll should be v0.96fg (still says 0.96ff), and now this.... |

@Squadman
Likely not, seeming as Winamp 5.094 isn't yet official. It has to be posted at the main page (http://www.winamp.com) before that is the case. So a revised 5.094 may come out in the next few days, to fix these small issues and any bigger bugs which may rear their heads. But we hope the latter doesn't happen. |

STOP THE PRESS
These two fixes aren't in the 5.094 distro - Fixed: Fade on start now behaves properly - Fixed: separate directsound settings with multiple instances For some unknown reason, we've got the wrong build of in_wm.dll ![]() (also not sure if "Fixed intermittent crash on seeking for some users" is in this build or not, seeing as it is also in_wm related, but I could never reproduce it anyway) And what's even worse is that I overwrote my version with all the fixes with the one from the installer. Doh! [Edit] Fixed in_wm.dll now available http://www.meggamusic.co.uk/winamp/in_wm.zip More info here |

And an other question: What das the libmp4v2.dll exactly. Is that an updated wrapper for using the MP4 container? Is it an updated AAC decoder/encoder? Or something completely different?

It's from http://mpeg4ip.sourceforge.net/ this.
Basically a MP4 decoder library that in_mp4 interfaces. |

Hmm. So that is just support for reading the MP4 container, while the content of it is processed by in_mp3?

MP4 is just a container, AAC is the yummyness inside. AAC is decoded by in_mp3. The .MP4 is busted open for its AAC goodness by in_mp4.

Ok, someone clear this up for me.
Is the new version of Winamp with ALL the bugfixes that were initially going to be included (top of this page), in the version on the main page. Downloading this over and over on my 56k takes a while. :< |
