I figured there must be one...
Hopefully it's not too similar... There's only so much that can be done with this game...

Bubble Bobble Amp
-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-
version 2.0

Author: Maria Jonsson

This is my second try at the Bubble Bobble amp.
This time I wanted a 'cleaner' look, so I separated
the windows into different levels from the game.
I've made the main bar look like level one and the
equalizer bar looks like level 2, etc.

All monsters and fruits I used for buttons and
cursors (the whale ghost, the blue monsters etc)
all occur in the levels which the windows are
set to look like (except the symbols in the mini-
browser).

I hope you like it!

Yes, looking great. I'm not fan of game skins, but I love Bubble Bobble.

Here's an update. It'd be done if I felt like finishing it, but I'm taking a break. Looks different enough from Jones's though.

It varies by skin. This one is actually "Small Fonts" but bold. Sometimes I use a font called "Joystix" or one called "Kongtext" and I used to have a better NES font and I'm sure I could find it if I really looked, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
Try browsing around here, you can even find fonts for specific games in many cases.

Edit: The "better NES font" I was thinking of is called "Press Start," it's on that site as well.

Bubble Bobble! Great! You know, I thrashed this game on PC back in the early 90s. I played it non-stop, in repeated attempts to make it past the 100th level, usually missing out frustratingly close to the end, and thereby wasting yet another several-hour block of time. As it happened, I also happened to buy a cassette of the Eurythmics Greatest Hits around that same time, which ended up being my soundtrack for most of my playing of this game.

As a result, if I'm ever somewhere where they play "classic hits" radio, and a Eurythmics song comes on, I immediately get an image of Bubble Bobble in my head. Every time. Almost 15 years later. It's uncanny.

Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.
