Milk Drop per microphone

Is there ANY way, to use Milkdrop Plug In independent from playing an MP3?

I would like to SEE the moving colors even when I hear vinyl or CD, which isnt plugged on my computer. Is it possible to get the signal that touches my cpu-microphone for the Visualization? And when I go in my LINE IN of the computer with a direct sound signal - can I use Milk Drop according to this signals?

yes its possible but milkdrop requires audio to run.

ctrl+L --> type linein://

your microphone needs to be set as the default recording device in windows.
