Change Time or Clock Format
I am running 5.541.
The time display is set to all minute in the player's display window. Is there an plug in or setting that will display it in, Hours:Minutes:Seconds instead of the default Minutes:Seconds I listen to alot of tracks that are 2 and 3+ hours and it would make it much easier for me. Thanks, D |

what you are wanting is a skin setting
in the modern skins you will have to edit player-normal-group.xml read http://dev.winamp.com/wiki/skin_Deve...g_Modern_Skins for more info thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

i found this info in my archives and it still works
<!-- Timer --> <text id="timer" display="time" x="15" y="16" w="83" h="20" font="player.BIGNUM" align="left" timeronstyle="3" timecolonwidth="5" timeroffstyle="3" fontsize="24" color="font.display" /> <!-- Playback Status --> <status id="status" x="5" y="15" w="10" h="23" stopBitmap="player.status.stop" playBitmap="player.status.play" pauseBitmap="player.status.pause" /> replace the info in player-normal-group.xml with this info in winamp modern skin's xml folder in big bento it is the same file but just copy the timeronstyle and timeroffstyle into the line after timer header thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

its real easy if you open the xml file with notepad
first just search for existing text in notepad for the lines i gave you you may have to tab the lines over to line them up correctly since the forum took all spacing out thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

OK.
I followed your instructions, thanks, the display shows, hours:minutes:seconds but when the track plays the timer reverts to all minutes... Any ideas??? Dg |

i guess they took the feature out since it work with the original 5.0 program
the only other thing i can suggest is to recommend it in the wish-list and they may reintroduce it in the next release (no guarantees) sorry i couldn't get you any farther thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

Darn, it looked like this thread was moving along well. Sorry, pizzapizza my reply to your PM was a bit premature.
I am moving this to the Wishlist section. However, as robdog2004 said, there are no no guarantees. Thanks for the good attempt, robdog2004! ![]() |

Changing Time Format?
I am running winmap 5.572.
Instead of the timer showing total minutes, is there a way to set to Hour:Minute:Seconds? Thanks! |

at this point pizza there isnt any word on reintroducing the feature
however the mods involved in this topic can probably talk to the right people about the features reintroduction into winamp (no guarentees that it will be done) thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

i've re-read this thread a few times now and i'm still lost as i can't work out what skin people are trying to use though i'll also mention that i don't remember the modern skins shipped natively displaying h:mm:ss in any part of the display even with the earlier 5.0x versions as there's never been the space to display that many parts of the time. some clarification would be appreciated though i wouldn't expect any native change made for this.

to daz
the feature was in the original modern skin in the version 5.09 (the last version i have that i know it works on in app archive) it may rely on a dll that is no longer included with winamp thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having Last edited by robdog2004; 1st June 2010 at 18:28. |

nope as i've not had the time to install an older Winamp version. it'd be simpler if i had a screenshot of what is being asked for from what was removed as i still don't know which of the various time displays is being referenced. then i can give a simple yes/no about this being looked into further.

timer off style will work in the skins xml file i mentioned
it is the on style that has been disabled if there is a easier way to choose the setting it would be appreciated since most users would get lost in the xml coding thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

is always good to know where i'm meant to be looking:
PHP Code:
the main issue is that with the Winamp Modern and Bento cases, it requires the placement of parts of the player area to be altered (bento is a bit better as it moves some parts but it still gets clipped) inorder for the display to work correctly. i'll try to add in a timerhoursRollover="1" to the text object for the next client release to allow the hour part to only appear when it needs to be though no promises [edit]looks like i've worked out how to get that implemented so should be in the next client release. -daz |

what you gave me works perfectly for big bento
<text id="SongTime" x="8" y="11" h="31" w="102" font="player.bitmapfont.nums" timecolonwidth="6" timeroffstyle="3" timerhours="1" display="time" align="left" alpha="220" nothing moves over or is clipped it only does it with standard bento if modified to <text id="SongTime" x="2" y="4" h="27" w="99" font="player.bitmapfont.nums" timecolonwidth="6" timeroffstyle="3" timerhours="2" display="time" align="left" alpha="220" it will fit better replace timer onstyle from the first post i made with the timerhours and it will work pizza thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

for Winamp modern the file to edit is %skindir%\Winamp Modern\xml\player-normal-group.xml and then you need to find <!-- Timer --> in the file and that is where the timer display object starts and add timerhours="1" to get it showing in the h:mm:ss format. however other parts of the skin will need to be altered as the lowest second and - (when using time remaining) are currently lost due to there not being enough space in the main window (as it was all based around mm:ss) as per the screenshot below. it can be adjusted to fit by moving a few bits to the left/right as required...
so there's 3 options available: 1) you work on editing the skin to have it sized correctly 2) i work on modding the skin to have it sized correctly 3) someone else works on modding the skin to be sized correctly of those three, #1 or #3 are best for me though i can tinker with things but it'll be on a low priority. also whilst i remember, whatever changes are made would need to be backed up as the Winamp installer re-creates all of the files in Winamp Modern / Bento when installed and modifications can be lost. -daz |

i've just tried the alterations you'd posted earlier rob and it still causes clipping of the text output even with the slight shifting of the status parts. so i've had a quick play around and i've got something which is better (moves more parts around to make a bit more available space).
however, when doing the h:mm:ss output, the skin engine doesn't apply the timecolonwidth value for all of the colons so will have to see if i can fix up the skin engine to cope with it for the next release (i should have realised changing one thing would cause issues with other parts of the code). once timecolonwidth is honoured on all parts of the time output it should look ok with h:mm:ss display (including space for the - when showing as time remaining as i generally do). -daz |

i've attached my player-normal-group.xml from tweaking the handling of the timer when showing h:mm:ss and the newer gen_ff (will have to wait for the next client to test this out though rob can test it to see if it works ok) but it'll now honour the colon width which is a lot better than it had been doing. and as can be seen from the screenshot it's possible to have the time-remaining show correctly (am using right-aligned with the xml file though it just needs the timer moved a few pixels to the left and left or center align will work ok).

so far so good daz
only one fault i saw in big bento skin was when you get the countdown timer it wants to go wider than it needs to and moves the song ticker over a whole 5 pixels regular bento doesnt have enough room to move (dont use it anyway since im near sighted) thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

DrO's fixed helped me out! I used his xml file posted up above and it worked! Yeah!!!
The screen shot shows better than it worked out for me. I have a larger gap between the seconds and the minutes than in the screen shot. Mine looks like this; hour:minutes:__seconds .... I would prefer; hour:minutes:seconds I'm not going to complain if it can't be tweaked tough. THanks for all winamp guys!!! |
