Playing Automatically

Quick question: Every time I open a playlist in Winamp (I have v. 5.35 FWIW), it starts playing the first track in the playlist automatically. I'd like for it simply to load the playlist without playing right away instead. I couldn't find this option under Preferences, though.

Any help? Thanks!

If you're loading them from the ML.

I don't know how to use ML, so I always use the "Open file(s)" button (it looks like an eject button). I tried the setting you suggested, but it still plays the first track automatically (on the button that I normally use anyway, not ML since I don't know how to use it).

Still a way to open via the eject-lookalike button and not have it start up immediately?

Yes. And very easily too.

See this screenshot...

The above procedure will enqueue the file(s) instead of playing. Then just click the 'Cancel' button depicted in the above screenshot after your playlist is populated.

Also, you can use the add button in the playlist editor, it will behave and look like the open dialog but it will just add files to the end of the playlist editor and not play them.
