no WMP-style "now playing" feature?

hi everyone,
I've searched the forums but I can't figure out if winamp has a feature that I consider invaluable:

is it possible to see details of the current playlist in the Media Library?

In Windows media player, you can edit all information of the current playlist with the "now playing" entry. This means seeing individual ratings, changing Album, Artist, Genre & co. information.

How am I supposed to do that in winamp?

I can't believe that such a great program doesn't have a basic feature like this one

True. adding something like that to the Media Library would be the best way to integrate the Playlist Editor into the ML I think.

Request: A little SmartView Query Language love.

so there really is no way to do it?
I'm amazed... I find it to be the only real flaw in winamp, and the only reason why I still have to use WMP even though winamp is so much better for everything else.

The Now Playing feature in WMP is a ML page that shows details on all the tracks you are playing in the playlist editor.
This means you can change the author, album name, rating and so on directly in the ML, both if you are editing a playlist or if you're playing a random selection of tracks from, say, a HD folder.

As far as I can see, the only way of doing so in Winamp is searching for each song in the ML separately, or play every single song and then edit them from the "recently played" list.

What would be needed is an entry in the ML that shows whatever you are playing in the playlist editor, so you can edit it directly (for example, I rate every single song I get and without this feature it's pretty hard to do).

any ideas?

thanks for the info,
I tried it and it indeed has a whole lot of interesting features... especially skins!

unfortunately the "now playing" plugin only lets you add the single rating, but not edit the track or batch edit (as in changing the album name or the genre).

What would be needed is a plugin that displays the list of whatever you're playing with full editing possibilities, as if it were in the ML.

Maybe the guys from classicPro can come up with something?
