Ouch! Only about as smart as your girlfriend?? Poopstick, that sounds kind of condescending. The way you phrased that, you must think your girlfriend is a total dumbass!

I wanna know, too . All previous Winamps have been hosted on Winamp.com's ftp servers, so why not v2.92 as well?

Because it's not an officially released version, and it never will be.

But Winamp 2.91 is beginning to get out of date to the public. They love to get their hands on the newest media player possible. I know because that's how I used to be. Competing media players are always coming out with new up-dates, even if there is hardly any difference.

Well, we'd much rather come out with a polished version than something buggy that had been rushed out in a hurry (like, Winamp3 for example).

Honestly, some people. Complain when we do release stuff, then complain when we don't .

So when poopsticks girlfriend looks at the new version number
on classic.winamp.com she'll say:
"hey look poopstick, a new verison of Winamp, lets get it."

Maybe a hint about the first "Winamp 5" (beta?) release?

BTW, whene 5 gets released, 2.x will still get maintenance releases, right?

No.
Winamp 5 will be the natural progression from Winamp 2.
ie. Winamp 5 will be the successor to the final 2.9x release, built on the same old c++ win32 engine. So in effect, all subsequent Winamp 5 updates will be equivalent to 2.x updates.

ps. and Winamp3 will continue to be developed as a separate product

It's not posted on classic.winamp.com because they only update the site once a week or something (I think it's Thursdays, but I've got a really bad memory for that type of stuff). But since it's on the nullsoft servers, it's official, and will be posted during the next update.

The downloads are normally kept on download.nullsoft.com, not the classic.winamp.com.

What I meant was that the LINK was going to be posted on the classic.winamp.com site during the next update.

Read all of this thread. It was a leak. It was unofficially released.
