ASX Again

I have read the previous posts for using asx files through winamp, but cannot get the planet rock www.planetrock.com/rock.asx to connect. I have copied the mms part of the asx file and added the /.wma extension, but winamp doesn't want to know.

This is fustrating, I don't want to use media player, so hoping that you may be able to help

Cheers

mms://212.187.188.15/PlanetRock/.wma
mms://212.187.177.10/PlanetRock/.wma

both work for me with this plugin:
http://blorp.com/~peter/oldshit/WMAOld.zip

use ctr+l to add the url to the paylist

do you have the wma codec installed?
do you have any third party plugins active (output, dsp)? try to disable them and use waveout output plugin

a few seconds inactivity while winamp catches the stream is normal, but it should play fine after that

Doesn't seem to work, now get a connecting message, but stops after a while with [HTTP/1.0/500 Server Error] followed by the URL.

Still Confused

No asx seems to work through winamp.

Thanks for your help so far

Can you play normal .WMA files off your HardDrive on Winamp?

Winamp doesn't support the WMAv8 codec which comes with WMPv7
You'll need to install Windows Media Player 6.4 to be able to play WMA in Winamp, and I doubt if Justin will ever make Winamp compatible with WMAv8 'cos he totally detests the format!

btw, only the Full version of Winamp has support for WMA
