Hello!
I'm using WinAmp 2.74 on Windows ME. I'm trying to get it to work with shoutcast streams. When I go to: http://www.shoutcast.com/index.phtml and click on one of the "Tune In!" icons, winamp is launched, the winamp browser displays (partialy) "Song: playlist[2]", the winamp playlist shows "1. shoutcast-playlist[2]", but nothing plays. If I right click on the "Tune In!" icon (in IE) and save the target to my desktop, I get a file named "shoutcast-playlist.xpl". If I then double-click on this file, I get results similar to the above paragraph. If I rename the file on my desktop to "shoutcast-playlist.m3u" or "shoutcast-playlist.pls" and then double-click on it, everything works great! Hmmmmm. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling winamp to no avail. I tried messing with the xpl extension in windows and couldn't get it to work. I also followed the advice and steps found in the forums. Does WinAmp not recognize xpl playlists? XPL is not listed in the file types in the winamp options. Do I need to install something else? Do I need to tweak anything? Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help! |
