You're welcome.

SAM2 has a learning curve, but the power harnessed from learning it is awesome.

ok festerhead I've gotten somewhere but nowhere!

take a look!
http://66.25.242.139/image.php That has the expanded form of the file (new ver)

source file:
http://66.25.242.139/image.txt

and the old image, little bit better results now
http://66.25.242.139/image2.php
source file:
http://66.25.242.139/image2.txt

Put the source file there so you could trouble shoot real quickly! I'll be sure to leave these on my server! For future instances. as well as ummm I hope that helps. I'm in the chat room!

1. For http://66.25.242.139/image.txt
// Require the database configuration code
require("XYZ");

Change this to your SAMdb configuration file.
See playing.php for the filename.

2. For http://66.25.242.139/image2.txt
It outputting exactly what you've given it.
There is nothing wrong with the script.

For example, change "Artist: $song.artist$" to "foo"
Change "Album: $song.album$" to "bar"
Change "Song: $song.title$" to "fred"

Save and execute the script. Notice the output.

Replace the dynamic portions with static strings.

Change this:
code:

imagestring ($im, 1, 1, 0, "Artist: ".$song['artist'], $tc);
imagestring ($im, 1, 6, 9, "Album: ".$song['album'], $tc);
imagestring ($im, 1, 11, 18, "Song: ".$song['title'], $tc);

To something such as this:
code:

imagestring ($im, 1, 1, 0, "Artist: Foo"$tc);
imagestring ($im, 1, 6, 9, "Album: Bar", $tc);
imagestring ($im, 1, 11, 18, "Song: Fred"$tc);

Save the file on your PHP enabled web server as a PHP file such as now-playing.php.

Edit the configuration portion to point to your DNAS.

Verify it works by visiting http://yourserver/now-playing.php

Add it to your signature using bbcode such as:
code:

[ img ]http://yourserver/now-playing.php[/ img ]

Note: Remove the smapces surrounding both the front and end img tag.

Hey Rampage (or anyone else who knows php). I like the script, but would like it even better if there was a way to align the text to the left. I've tried everythig, php.net, google, but to no avail. My script looks crappy when it's aligned in the center. Plz help!

This is a sig of some nature.

BTW, here's my script:

Quote:
<?php
// This image you can call immediately from an html file in the image tag
// (i.e. <image src="black.php">) easy huh?

Header("Content-type: image/png");

// Fill in your own server information here:
$host = "68.3.55.67";
$port = "8000";
$listenlink = 'http://68.3.55.67:8000/listen.pls'; //make link to stream

$fp = @fsockopen($host, $port, &$errno, &$errstr, 5); //open connection
if(!$fp) {
$success=2; //se-t if no connection
}
if($success!=2){ //if connection
fputs($fp,"GET /7.html HTTP/1.0\r\nUser-Agent: XML Getter (Mozilla Compatible)\r\n\r\n"); //get 7.html
while(!feof($fp)) {
$page .= fgets($fp, 1000);
}
fclose($fp); //close connection
$page = ereg_replace(".*<body>", "", $page); //extract data
$page = ereg_replace("</body>.*", ",", $page); //extract data
$numbers = explode(",",$page); //extract data
$currentlisteners=$numbers[0]; //set variable
$connected=$numbers[1]; //set variable

if($connected==1) //if DSP is connected
$wordconnected="yes"; //set variable
else //if no DSP connection
$wordconnected="no"; //set variable
$peaklisteners=$numbers[2]; //set variable
$maxlisteners=$numbers[3]; //set variable
$reportedlisteners=$numbers[4]; //set variable
}

// Image size can be changed here: (x, y)
$im = ImageCreate(135,55);

// Background color in R(ed)G(reen)B(lue) below
$background_color = ImageColorAllocate($im,255,255,255);

// text colors also in RGB
$text_color1 = ImageColorAllocate($im,0,0,0);
$text_color2 = ImageColorAllocate($im,0,0,0);

if($success!=2 && $connected==1){

// song information is splitted in artist - title:
// This requires consistent artist & title format (no ' - ' in title/artist)
// else you can use $numbers[6] as current song info below
$song=explode(" - ",$numbers[6]);

// strings can of course be replaced with your own bla
$string1= "Artist: ".$song[0];
$string2= "Game: ".$song[1];
$string3= "Song: ".$song[2];
$string4= "Listeners: $currentlisteners";
}
else {
$string1= "Remix 101 is currently";
$string2= "OFFLINE.";
$string3= "Please tune-in later.";
$string4= ":::";

}

// positioning below
$px = (imagesx($im)-5*strlen($string1))/2;
ImageString($im,1,$px,5,$string1,$text_color1);
// (image,font (from 1 to 5),starting x position, y position,line of text,color)
$px = (imagesx($im)-5*strlen($string2))/2;
ImageString($im,1,$px,20,$string2,$text_color2);
$px = (imagesx($im)-5*strlen($string3))/2;
ImageString($im,1,$px,30,$string3,$text_color2);
$px = (imagesx($im)-5*strlen($string4))/2;
ImageString($im,1,$px,45,$string4,$text_color1);
ImagePng($im);
// In response to KXRM's reaction:
// if you want to cache the picture, you should place this script in
// your internetpage, remove line 5 (Header-call)
// and use ImagePng($im, "filename.png");
// NB: filename.png must have the right permission settings
// (CHMOD 777 does it)
//
// Then you can place filename.png in the same html-file.
ImageDestroy($im);
?>

This is a sig of some nature.

Album title and total playing time are not items in the DNAS XML statistics.

You'll need to either use some other tool, such as SAM2, or do some creative scripting/joining with what you have available.

See my site and signature as an example of what you can do with SAM2.

???

Sorry, i'm a total noob, but i'm having problems with the simple first steps. I have the php code, i've edited it to use my station, and i've saved it as a .txt file and renamed it to a .php file. I then put an image link to it in a blank webpage, and tried to open it. It shows a broken image. Will this only work when Ive uploaded it to my server (its currently still on my harddisk), and if it needs to go to my server, how will I get it there (the server is the pc i am currently on, so is there a directore of some sorts that contains the files in the server directory [sorry if im not explaining well] and if so where would i put the php file to allow it to work) I use selfhost to redirect to my computer as I have an ever changing (dynamic? is that the word?) IP address so my server is http://edz.selfhost.com. Would just uploading it to that address with cuteFTP work (i'll try this).

Sorry is this makes no sense, or is a completely simple problem, but im new to hosting a server.

SkaFreak, have you talked with Bryan and/or Louis?
They might be flexible to stretch out the cost to something your budget can handle.

EdZ, copy the script ScYtH_2088 posted
-> edit the "// Fill in your own server information here:" section
-> Save script as some_file_name.php
-> Copy/Move/FTP the php file to a php enabled webserver
-> enjoy

When it's running, change the strings to match your station.

SkaFreak, they are SpacialAudio and the makers of SAM2.
Contact them.

EdZ, is your webserver hosted remotely or locally?
