MfG

He needs a sample configuration file for sc_trans.
He wants to change the playlists every two houres (1pm = Playlist1; 3pm = Playlist2; 5pm = Playlist3; etc.).
The content of his playlist files will be updated every day.

code:

playlistfilename_21=samstag1.lst
playlistfilepath_21=/xxx/xxx/autostream/playlist/samstag/samstag1.lst
playlistfilename_22=samstag2.lst
playlistfilepath_22=/xxx/xxx/autostream/playlist/samstag/samstag2.lst
playlistfilename_23=samstag3.lst
playlistfilepath_23=/xxx/xxx/autostream/playlist/samstag/samstag3.lst
playlistfilename_24=samstag4.lst
playlistfilepath_24=/xxx/xxx/autostream/playlist/samstag/samstag4.lst

DJ Protocol Error

While trying to connect to the DJ port we are getting an error using the old Winamp DNAS Plugin (1.9 i think). The Notes.txt says this plugin is supported but I'm wondering if this is a bug considering there is a variable definition for both Shoutcast 2 (unreleased) and Shoutcast 1.9 DNAS plugins to connect to this feature. This is what we are seeing in the SC_TRANS.log

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. What are we suppose to be using to broadcast from external DJs? Are we suppose to use the old winamp plugin or another instance of the sc_trans_beta with capture enabled? If the second is the provided method, what configuration options do we need to set for username/password for accounts in the sc_trans.conf

is there a way to configure this program to just transcode one sc_serv to other sc_serv's that are lower bitrates?

I tried entering the server url in the .lst and got errors, and it seems if you do not configure the playlist (and have music) then it errors and quits.

I'm using this as a linux console app.

Depending on what setup you are looking for,you could always feed sc_trans your main stream and let sc_trans transcode and feed as many sc_serv/dnas as you wish.

Thats what the dj port is there for ..

having some trouble figuring out the config to display: artist - song with the new transcoder.

Ive been checking the logs and it seems even tracks with valid data arent showing it.

i have useMetadata turned on and ive tried using the pattern example in txt as well but i feel like im missing something as ive yet to actually display both (i think).

example:

2009-03-22 08:52:30 I msg:[decode] next file is /*****/*******/radio/playlist/02_gaseous.mp3
2009-03-22 08:52:30 I msg:[ID3V2] version 4.0 tagsize=2156 unsync=0 xheader=0
2009-03-22 08:52:30 I msg:[decode] 02_gaseous.mp3::6721202::420.075
2009-03-22 08:52:49 I msg:[shoutcastmetadata] Sending metadata
2009-03-22 08:59:30 I msg:[mp3 decode] 854318119 eof

shows on the DNAS as 02_gaseous.mp3 but i can see in my home player that it has artist, album, etc.

some help

Yes, I that is what I thought as well, but I could not get it working properly.. I kept getting a user/password are invalid.

Even when they where not, and entered in the format <user>:<password> .

I believe I have properly edited the config, and xml files..

Also seems like this version needs dependencies when trying run on linux, I wish it was more like sc_serv, where it didn't..

if could post any error that you version of linux is throwing up hazeFm that makes you think it requires dependencies that would be helpful.

The only dependencies needed ive ever come across are 32bit libs for 64bit linux.

AS for your dj password error remember as well as setting up your djlogin and password in the config file you must schedule a dj event in calendar.xml.

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish.

I am running the last beta on a Windows 2003 server. I use sc_trans only to use the playlist feature. Right now it transcodes all my mp3's, but that is unnecessary. Is there an option in the config file, to turn transcoding off, and only use the playlist? If not, wouldn't that be a nice feature?

You can't stop the transcoding. It's something that >could< be added, but you'd lose a lot of functionality. Even something as simple as crossfading would not be available (since that must be done with uncompressed samples).

I don't use the crossfading feature, so that would be no problem at all. I would really like to turn it off, and just stream the files in their original format.

NSV Capabilities

I'm back...... after a few months break.

After reading the search results, I can see that sc_trans v1 and NSV are a no-no...... And I guess V2 is a no-no too....

So, is there an alternative to this set up with DNAS & NSV, with the capabilities of sc_trans2, without of course, having a standalone DNAS (with no sc_trans)?

It is an integral part of sc_trans.
Without scheduling a dj event a dj will be refused access even if you have them setup in your configuration file.

Sorry, yeah, you're right.... I thought you had to set a time/duration too, whereas a <calendar /> is sufficient.....

My bad....

One question, how does the details get stored when you use the API?

an understanding of javascript/ajax is needed to get the demo UI working it does not work "out of the box".

This might be a stupid question..... Say you have 2 playlists, and a connected dj.... and say one playlist has a higher priority than the dj and the other play list, this list will be set to play for only 2 mins every 2 hours........ will this playlist play over the dj (if connected)and lower priority playlist?

Regards,

DJ Pedster

I was thinking about playing annoucements every 2hrs without having to ask my DJs to.....Oh well.

This calendar feature, if a DJ is scheduled to end at, say, 2pm, I guess sc_trans will kick them promptly at that time, yeah?

are you trying to connect a source, or as a DJ? If you only want to connect a source, only a password is needed.

you must provide djlogin:djpassword in the shoutcast dsp password field.

Also you need to schedule an event in calendar.xml to let the dj connect to sc_trans.
