Everything is working for me fine! But one thing I have problem with. When I press the "Talk" button, I can talk normally but when I finish talking I let go of the button(This is suppose to turn OFF the mic...) it didn't exactly turn off, in fact, its actaully still on. So my listeners can hear all the sounds I make. So is there any way to fix it? Tom?

Hello Tom.

I posted my screenshots about a week or so ago. They are on page one. I could use your support in the questions there.

Thanks.

Oops I missed them the first time.

In your Recording Control select Mixer. Then in your Volume Control first make sure you have them all showing (mainly need to see the Microphone) Options > Properties > Show the following volume controls:
Once the Microphone is showing make sure it is NOT muted.

That is the only place I have Microphone and the upper one is what everything is set at. Again, those are ALL the settings checked so that all the controls are shown.

(Other than CD3, that is unchecked on both Recording and Volume)

Under Options>Properties>Recording all i have is

Telephone.
Auxillary.
Compact Disk.
Line in.
Video.
Microphone Volume.
Loop Back.

A post i posted awhile again that noone replyed to it is this.

Ok well, im running a shoutcast server on a oc3 line and the only problem i have is with the mic and talking and not having to switch back and forth from soundcard input to winamp, which if i do this the quality always goes to crap.

When i leave it on Soundcard Input and have the lock key off and talk key off and not using the mic because a song is playing people seem to be able to hear me and the song sounds like crap, even tho its playing at 128kbps, the quality seems to be horrible and they are able to hear me when im not even pressing talk ot have lock on.

Anyone know whats going on here its making me go crazy ;( plz help
My msn is wednesdaynighthero@hotmail.com
My aim is kRadtheelite .

Oh and another thing is, for some reason when i have it on sound input there is no music playing on the other persons side its just silent and when i try to talk they cant hear me either..

Yeah so that is my problem and thats the only options i have and i dont know what to do. If you can please help me it would really help alot thanks.

wnfakind,
Select loopback in your recording mixer.

smoke82,
That looks like it is setup correctly. What problems are you having?

Zaya,
Make sure you haven't over looked the microphone in the playback mixer. Options > Properties > Adjust audio for > Playback > Show the following volume controls > Microphone
None of the images you have posted have showed this. If that option is not there than I'm not sure what to tell you. Are you sure your card if full duplex?

tjena såg att du e svensk.
problemet är att du har valt minst volume på "What you hear" höj den till max.
IN ENGLISH: The prob is that you must raise the volume on "What you hear" tab.

When I use shoutcast and winamp, me and my friends hear MY voice and shit like that from the microphone instead of the music, and I'm not even holding "Push to talk"...

soundcard input

Tom
hello! i have two questions

#1
u talk about advanced mode, is that for shoutcast plugin or what?
because i have never seen any about advanced mode
because since im using input device: winamp to play music
and input device: soundcard input to talk
so i would like to have a fader for the input device
because it doesnt sound good when i talk and switch to the song and it starts directly..

#2 i tried alot of changing with the soundcard input
no matter what settings i have it seems to be airing the microphone and nothing else
i think i even tried to use the 'what you hear' in open mixer settings
it doesnt change any for the listeners if i push the 'push to talk' or even 'lock' it...its just that i hear myself talk if i use that option
when i press it, the wave device (i think it was) goes down and microphone goes up (as its supposed to) but they still hear just my voice all the time...same level too
ill try 'what u hear' choice again when im home
if i still cant get that working, is there any other ways?

thx for all help guys!!

Ok, since nobody answers my new topic (i don't know why) i'll post my problem here because i think this topic is also good for my problem.

i set up my winamp and shoutcast like the manual on shoutcast.com says.
in my recording control i put the check mark into the field under the "stereo mix"-control and in the volume control i unmuted the microphone.

the problem is that although i set bg music level to -20 everyone can here my music perfectly but if i start to say something the volume of the music doesn't go down and so my listeners can't really hear what i say because the volume of the music doesn't go down.

i'm using winamp 2.80, shoutcast 1.8.2b and my soundcard is the hercules muse xl with the newest drivers.

please help me!

Mic Prob

When I select Soundcard Input under Input Device,

Here's what happens:
1. The background music is incredibly faint, even when I'm not pressing the button
2. All you can hear is me through the mic, even when I'm not pressing the button

Here's what I've observed:
1. Under the mixer Wave/DirectSound goes down (the music cutting out)
2. Under the mixer Microphone goes up (the mic picking up)

What I don't understand:
1. Why is the Mic picking up sound when I'm not holding the button?
2. Why is the sound so faint when I'm not holding the button?

I'm including all of my settings, Here

Can anyone help?!

I might have a sollution

The thing is if you push open mixer, then you have two different windows.
On one of theese you make a choice, what you have dont is probably chosen Microphone (you can just choose one).
You should choose Stereo Mixer (also called: What You Hear).

I have a guide on my settings, its in Swedish but you can look at the pictures and hopefully understand what i mean:
