Hey, i read all the stuff on the Sites before but it didn´t really help.

My problem is like this:

I´ve got a USB Mic and a Creative Audigy.
As i want to record ingames sounds i need the "What you hear" feature of my Soundcard. Next step is obvious. I also need to record my voice. And we got the problem. I´d need a second input device to realize that. I can either select the Soundcard as input device or the USB Headset. As this isn´t possible (isn´t it???) i can´t realize this.

What could i do?

btw, i m using SAM2 Broadcaster (which will solve the common problem with USB Devices btw.) and i post here as i hope i can find pps here that already had such a problem.

thx in advance

mic volume problem

I have a machine properly set up to broadcast and everything works exactly as you mentioned. I set up another machine and I can't get the mic volume to toggle when talk is pressed to save my life. On the Shoutcast source Input tab it IS set to Soundcard Input/Microphone. Music levels do toggle when I press talk and are set at -6/-20. Mic volume is set to 0dbs (max).

Pressing Open Mixer: the Recording control is set to display Stereo Mix, CD, Line In, and Microphone...Stereo Mix IS selected. On the Master Volume window, Master Volume, Wave, CD, Line In, and Microphone are displayed, and none are muted. This is where I observe the change in wave volume. Microphone volume is set to minimum here.

I ran a sound card test...the microphone and speakers (a simple headset with microphone I use to broadcast from the other machine) are connected, recognized, and working.

This is an XP machine. Under Properties, the mixer device lists Intel Integrated Audio. On the 'Advanced' pop-up beneath mic, the only active controls are checkboxes for Boost and Alternate Mic. I've tried each permutation...they have no impact on the problem.

The machine can broadcast..both music and mic...but I have to manually make the changes. My other machine is set up exactly the same but has an SiS card (and works fine). Am I doomed because it only has the built in sound card?

I just want it to work like you have described...

Help...

Im new here but i have several qns. [well, one actually] but i hope you guys cld help me.

Last night, i was streaming using shoutcast & winamp. Apparently, my friends keep complainging that the songs keeps jerking. But when i speak, its ok. Only the songs will jump, causing them to be very frustrated.
I've checked all my settings and it seems alright..

Could anyone tell me why? We've just moved to a new server. Is that the cause of it? But i dont think so, cuz my other friends who were streaming does not have that problem.

Im using broadband..

Thank You~

Most of our problem is that there is a problem about this shoutcast dsp...i think the problem is because of shoutcast dsp 's bug....

my mic. options is correct..i am sure that... first days i had no problem...when i press the push to talk button wave was decreasing and microphone is increasing...now i have the same options...my wave is still decreasing but microphone doesnt increase....!!!!!!!!!!!

SO thats not our problem...THATS THE BUG OF SHOUTCAST DSP!!!
Couldnt u still understand and ask the same questions)

Ok, so, NONE of these replies have helped, at all, zippo. My soundcard is a SoundMAX Digital Audio card, and I get no 'What you hear' or 'Wave/Steam/Whatever playback' file in the advanced options, all my friends on my shoutcast can hear is a really really low music sound and then me on the mic, without using the 'push to talk' button. I've went through about 20 sites that have this same question and nothing has worked, does -anyone- have any answers aside from 'Well I answered that a page ago, so go look!'? Any help is appreciated, aside from that.

Hi Guys!!

I have tried everything in these replies but I am having NO LUCK at all!!!

Im going to take a screent shot for you all to look at.

The reason the dB is blue is because when i select that, thats what happens, even when music is playing. People complain of the tracks just cutting out...

Can anyone help me on what to click etc PLEASE
Also, the reason the picture shows the mic as on the lowest level is cos when i click talk, it slowly creeps up

Thanks.

No mic sound

I have done all parts I have read about in this thread..

Like enabled "what you hear" under record mixer and turned it up to max volume.
And I have unchecked the mic under playback, so the mic is active.
When I press "pusch to talk" I can see the mick volume turn up and wave/mp3 fades down.
I have marked Microphone under Mic input in the choutcast source window.
But I can´t hear my microphone.

But if I manually mark microphone under the recording mixer I get sound from the mic so the mic is working just fine.

Im running XP pro and a SB Live.
New sound drivers installed.
Whatta heck am I doing wrong?
Hope some one can help me out.
I need it to work as soon as possible.

Well open the mixers (from shoutcast) and make sure that Microphone IS NOT SELECTED and that "What You Hear" or "Mixed Output" IS SELECTED

That should do it!

Like I said in my post I had done all that stuff

But I have figured it out now.
I had to select headphones instead of speakers under speaker settings.
Wierd but true.

Thanx anyway.

Press open mixer in shoutcast source.
Under recording control choose "options" from the menu and then Properties.
You should now have a windows with a list of input sources.
Mark "What you hear".
(it could be name "stereo mixer")

If you don´t have any of them, download new drivers and do the same procedure over again.

Good luck.

I supose you press the "push to talk" button in the shoutcast source?

If so you may experience the problem I had.
I had to change the speaker settings to headphones.
You do that under whe windows controlpanel and there you choose the sound configuration (don´t know what´s it called under eng, XP Im using swe)

In the sound properties press the Advanced button on the first tab (volume) But not the first one the second that are located under the "speaker settings" part.
Then choose headphones.

I hope that will solve your problem.

Sorry for my bad explination, I hope you get what I mean.

You have selected soundcard input under input device in the shoutcast source?
And maked sure that your mic is not muted under the play control in the mixer?

Does Wave Out Mix do the same thing as Stereo Mixer? It's the the only thing I have that I think would do the job.

microphone plugin

hey it seems like 'some sort of microphone plugin for winamp would solve the problems for a lot of guys/girls here, is there already such a thing?

then you can use winamp as source without the 'what you hear', and make sure no other pc sounds are broadcasted

if anyone knows of the existence of this pls reply

thanx
