I was looking at system resources while winamp was paused, and it was eating 99% of my cpu...what the hell is winamp doing while it's paused?

More than likely, the question is "what is one of your potentially dodgy 3rd party plugins doing whilst winamp is paused"
Probably of the General Purpose; DSP/FX; or Input variety.
Apparently gen_mirc.dll has been known to cause this problem . . .
. . . possibly a fair few other 3rd party plugins too.

Please tell me you're using one/some of these plugins ?!?!
If not, then please post your full sys specs, including:
CPU & Speed; RAM; Soundcard; Videocard; Win OS & IE version
Also, whether you have the latest drivers for sound/vid cards.
Plus a list of all programs running concurrently ( fore/background)

Weyhey!
Not a bad guess, eh?
My psychic plugin is on top form today!

btw, I think there's an updated version of mirc plugin available somewhere . . . someone posted a link to it a few days ago . . . not sure where though . . .
