Shoe horn another browser into Winamp.
I was hoping to use Spotify browser version in Winamp so that I could use the visulizations.
Unfortunately it gives an error message. I guess modern browsers are built for streaming etc. I suppose the Winamp browser is years old and incapable. Is there anyway to shoe horn Google Chrome or FF into Winamp? Just doing this would revive some good function back into Winamp. Ive loved Winamp since the days I had a 20Gig hard drive. Thanks in advance for any help or pointers. |

What you are actually asking for is to shoe-horn Winamp into a new browser, as a new browser is multiple times the size of Winamp.
Winamp uses the OS browser integration. If a site works in IE then it has a good chance of working in Winamp. If Winamp actually includes chrome bloatfest it would bump the installer size to well over 100MB. It would also mean that Winamp would need constant updates due to the flaws they keep adding to chrome. If you want to play music in spotify and watch visuals in Winamp, you don't need to integrate anything. Just make sure Windows is set to record via Stereo Mix device, and use the line In feature of Winamp. The easiest way is to make a bookmark for the URL LineIn:// My weekly radio show for nerds and wannabe nerds 15% Extra on Source FM every Friday |
