Winamp opens up very slowly
Hi,
I am having troubles with Winamp. I really love to use it but i cannot. It takes ages to open up this program. When i open it up it takes like ~2 minutes untill it is open. I hope this is not a problem with my computer because all other programs are working fine except this one. I have WIN XP SP 2 More info on attached File.(right click to download & open up with winword) Thanks Regards, Umit Durmus |

I had a similar problem, however my delay was only 15-20 seconds, but this could just be differences in hardware.
I worked from a clean install of the free 5.24 pack, Winamp had never been on this computer. I have a DVD burner and a CD burner (the other computer I tried it on only had one and it wasnt effected so Im not sure if this is related) I found if I uninstalled the Nullsoft Rip & Burn V1.0 plugin (under Preferences - Plugins - Media Library) that Winamp loaded in a second or so. Which solved my problem but I guess you lose your rip and burn ability from in winamp. Let me know if it works for anyone else. Pat |

15-20 seconds is an aweful lot of seconds.
![]() I have noticed that if you remove certains .w5s files from the System folder, Winamp starts much slower. Just an observation. |
