Shoutcast and Google chrome problem
Hi, I have a problem with my shoutcast server and google chrome.
I have my readio server mounted with shoutcast, the problem is that when it accesses to play from a computer in google chrome it does not work, from other browsers it works. To others when I play from a mobile for example with google chrome on iphone if it works and with the same version of chrome on android it does not work. Because it can be? Thanks in advance for the help |

it has something to do with launching an http stream on an https page...
why anyone feels that an audio stream needs encryption or whatever https does is a mystery to me, but that's another discussion. try launching the stream in its own window with the stream url, not in a player embedded, or a media tag, in an https page. there are several discussions here about https where broadcasters are jumping through hoops to support https on the dnas and their site. overhead comes to mind. /* v2 HTML5 / Player test pages DigitalMixNYC, DigitalMixNYCbx | DNAS Status: Now Playing js codes (scaststatus_X.php) | PortForward.com | Upload/Download Speed Test | No-IP.com: Free Dynamic DNS | In the YP | dnasDir */ |

an example:
http://tunein.com/embed/player/s290406/?autoplay=false --works because the protocol is http https://tunein.com/radio/DigitlalMix...source=tiEmbed --fails because the host site is https the shoutcast dnas that both load is http://digitalmix.ddns.net:30007/stream/1/?type=http most browsers fail this test, not just chrome. /* v2 HTML5 / Player test pages DigitalMixNYC, DigitalMixNYCbx | DNAS Status: Now Playing js codes (scaststatus_X.php) | PortForward.com | Upload/Download Speed Test | No-IP.com: Free Dynamic DNS | In the YP | dnasDir */ |

Hello, if indeed the error is when using mixed protocol.
You cannot mix https with http on the same site. I already solved it by removing the broadcast that goes through http from the web https. Thank you very much for your reply. |

Google Chrome is a special case. It arbitrarily changes http: to https: on stream URLs even if they then don't work. The only way to make it work is to upgrade to DNAS with SSL support. I know - I went through all that about six months ago.
