Need an older version of Shoutcast DSP?

I need to stream at 16 kps the 1.8.2 version we have now only allows for 24 kps do I need to download an older version which allowed that?

If so which version should I use. I went to the http://bizznatch.250x.com/shoutcastarchives/ site listed in the sticky faqs forum none of the dsp files would download.

Any ideas? Also which verion am I likey to need?

Thanks
Raymond Mills

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
General SHOUTcast Information -> Where can I download the old version of SHOUTcast DSP?

Yes, I know it says DSP. It also has older DNASs.

Alternatively, check out Sawg Stuff.

That is correct.. its the DSP and not the DNAS that determines the BITRATE.

you will need shoutcast DSP 1.8.0 and the fraunholfer CODEC to stream at such a low bitrate.

Shoutcast.com does NOT supply this CODEC and use of this CODEC without a license is illegal!

Did the Older version allow it?

My customer had the older version on his computer and when they upgraded they went with the latest.

Are you saying that the older versions cannot stream at that speed? They were streaming at 8 and 16 k before and not paying a license fee.

What has changed and how much is the fee anyway.

actually, what I'm saying is the older versions will do rates ans speeds that the newer version CANNOT

as for fees, well it was in upwards of $5,000.00 or so! (that was many years ago)

many do run the CODEC without the license, but thats not recommended for "official" stations.. (I run this CODEC but I had it since its inception into windows when it was FREE so I can still use it as I'm still running the OS it came under)
