Problems with Nano 3G and cover art

Hi everybody,

I just got my Nano 3G after having a Nano 2G and succesfully using ml_ipod.

Getting music and videos on the iPod works very well but I still cannot see any cover on my iPod although cover are in Tags (I have added the Tags using Mp3Tag).

Used ml_ipod V3.02P11

I already tried to initialize and get the things onto the iPod again but again no covers.
As far as I understood the cover pictures are uploaded to the iPod automatically (or by using the option "refresh album art")

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your advise

Cheers
Daniel

In my case not even the coverflow is working
No single Cover picture file is visible

Any other possibilities insteas ml_ipod and iTunes?
But I would more like to have it fixed and use ml_iPod as I really like it.

One more question: How about podcast pics and video preview?

Thanks heaps
Daniel

Did you enable it in the prefs? It's off by default.

I've got the same issue on iPod Classic 80GB, it's turned on in the prefs, cover art works fine if uploaded by iTunes. Load the same set of songs with ml_ipod, everything but covers. I have not tried the newly released p11. I will tonight and report back.

Yes I did. For me it worked as well with iTunes, but using ml_ipod undfortunately not.
But as I've already written, I initialized the iPod with ml_iPod during trying all the possibilities.

Another bug I found now: Photo transfer is also not working properly. It uploads the Pictures but they are not displayed, maybe it's the same bug!!!

Kind regards
Daniel

Thanks for the upload. It'll take a while to analyze this, though...

...Unfortunately not. To help u this is what I have done:
  • Executed patch (updated to P12)
  • Connected iPod
  • Performed "Update all cover art (slow)"
  • Synchronised Photos
  • Ejected iPod

Result:
  • No cover displayed, neither in coverflow not in album list or playing a song
  • no photos displayed, but there has been an improvement asit displays now a photo list but with all black pictures

Anything I can help you with?

Kind regards
Daniel

Hm, weird, as jmcbns reported in http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....49#post2256349 that p12 fixed all photo issues for him.

Maybe an archive helps, create it with
iPod icon->Help->Create archive for bug report
and upload it for me... Thanks

Please close Winamp, attach iPod and make the file x:\iPod_Control\Device\SysInfo on your iPod empty (don't delete it), then restart Winamp. Then a dialog should ask you for the iPod type, make sure you select nano 3G

Classic results

Updated to p12. Emptied my ML. Connected ipod. Right clicked and said "transfer to HD all songs not in ML. Waited. Done. Ejected.

All cover art still is there. <whew>

Used The Godfather to retag one track, adding cover art. Connected ipod, added song to ML, right-clicked it and did transfer to -> My ipod. Uploading, writing coverart DB. Ejected. No cover art.

Just for fun, I cleared the x:\iPod_Control\Device\SysInfo, restarted WinAmp, selected Classic (6G) and refreshed all album art. Success! The one song I tagged got it's art! No art for the 332 other songs, but I haven't looked to see if they're tagged.
