I used to have an older version of Winamp, like V2.62 or sumthing, then I upgraded to V2.75 and now when I try to use the AVS it says "No MMX support found - Cannon run AVS" Why??? How do I fix it?

Before I even see your specs my first guess is that your system is just too old, but let's have 'em anyway.

Newer AVS requires MMX to run. Either Winamp is not properly installed or you have an old processor without MMX.

Yeah, my computer sucks. Its a Pentium 166, overclocked to 233 mhz. I have a 32 Meg Ati All In Wonder Rage 128 Video Card. Sound Blaster Live MP3+ Sound card, 128 megs of ram and some cheap Amptron PM8600 motherboard... Im gonna buy A better board with a 700 mhz processor that my other stuff will work on (sound, video, ram) then my computer will be pretty cool.. But cuz of my processor, it sucks.

That means the your computer doesn't support mmx. You should go back to an avs version that does work. Or you could just wait for your new computer.

From the Webopediawebsite
A set of 57 multimedia instructions built into Intel's newest microprocessors and other x86-compatible microprocessors. MMX-enabled microprocessors can handle many common multimedia operations, such as digital signal processing (DSP), that are normally handled by a separate sound or video card. However, only software especially written to call MMX instructions -- so-called MMX-enabled software -- can take advantage of the MMX instruction set.
I belive it came with the PII systems.

mmx/avs problem on a p200 w/mmx

I just reinstalled win 98 (4.10.1998) and the latest version of winamp and got "no mmx support found - cannot run avs". I've got a pentium 200 w/ mmx support. What could be causing this? It worked fine before I reinstalled win-doze.

You could try a newer version of AVS.
