SHOUTcast bug close program

when user enters some strange characters icyName as to é ñ, I get this error:

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
what(): XML parser error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 4
Aborted (core dumped)

icyName=Máxima

I need a solution because the radio is public for all.

see http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?p=2790357#known and #11 - the only solution currently is to clean up the metadata in the titles being sent in the media used before it gets to the DNAS.

it depends if the source you're using allows you to do it or not. all i can say is consult the docs for the source software being used.

source = software connected to the DNAS which provides the stream's audio e.g. sc_trans, Winamp + Source DSP, SAM, BUTT, etc.

so it is the source software and not the DNAS (sc_serv) that you need to be looking at as there is nothing in the DNAS which will block the connected source from sending the title updates to it.

My clients use Winamp + Source DSP and SAM too. Username and password for my DNAS is public, then at any time they can crash my server.

i'm sorry but there is nothing else i can do as i'm not allowed to provide a new DNAS which has the fix for the issue. and i would not suggest hex editing the sc_serv to change the updinfo string to something else to cause the title update from the source to fail whilst keeping the DNAS running.
