Criticism please

Well, I need to do text and numbers and all that stuff, you can see templateamp behind it, you guys talked me into using it (thanks by the way)

I'm nto sure if the equalizer is to plain or not, like it might need something. If you guys have any ideas on things let me know, the playlist and mini browser havent really been started yet, I just worked on it for a little bit and came up with this.

Smooth- a little plain, but I really like the shapes and shadows. Are your eq sliders animated? I think the area between the main and eq is perhaps a bit plain- there's kind of a big blank area there, and since that part is lighter than the rest of the skin, it stands out a bit. Are you going to add any color to it?

I think you've got something pretty interesting going on here, though.

Nice music btw- Fear Factory ...Becky likey.

I like it
are you using layers?
I'd love to see you test out some background colors - I don't know if I would go with the peasoup green you got going there - give us a screenshot where we can't see template in the back

If anyone can find any of the skins I made please email them to Forevever@aol.com
I can't remember all the names but specifically hunting for Lascivious, and DEVOUR (compilation with Jax) and any in the Impulse series which had 6 total. Auriferous, Gilt, Impulse, Nadir, and 2 others I can't remember but you dig.

UGH!!!!! Nevermind the below text, anybody know a host that won't mind me directly linking to the image? AOL is to slow, Angelfire doesn't allow direct linking. Once I find one that doesn't suck completely, I'll give you guys the 5 SS I have of colors.

Few Updates between the main and EQ. Hopefully it doesn't look so dull, I'll start working on the Playlist and MB once I like how the Main and EQ look together. I need to get ideas for the Shuffle/Edit/Mono-Stereo etc..

You guys have any ideas?

Atmo: What do you mean are they animated? You mean when you click them, do they change color or something?

Gimme 5 minutes, I got 56k

now AOL won't let me upload stuff, if you guys know of a good place I can put my images, that would be much appreciated.

I like the purply one, and the bright white, especially on a white background- makes it look like it's hovering, very keen.

What's the verdict on the eq sliders? (I was the one who asked, not Atmo) By animated, I mean, does the entire bar look different when the sliders are in a different position, or does the slider just move up and down and that's it. You have all of them at the very top, so I can't see what each bar looks like when the slider is in a diff position. Except for your preamp- Can I assume from that one that by the time you put the slider in the middle, that bar is sort of "filled in"?

I like your update, that space between main/eq looks a lot better now.

Why am I the only one who didn't have a problem seeing the ss at first??

sorry i thought atmo asked, to lazy to go back and look, the bar in the middle that makes it look like a hole changes color from completely see through (or so it looks) to filled in with a lighter blue and the gradient on the button switches from dark at top to dark at bottom

nice I think they all look great except the last one, bit too bright and too much contrast with the blue.

I see you've taken out the gradient in the playlist, maybe you could do a gradient in just the lowerpart of the playlist

Clean and deceptively simple. I likes it! Out of the five, I like the white one the best, but I'm one of those high contrast types.

Your minibrowser doesn't have shadow like the rest of the skin, but I imagine you just haven't got around to it yet. It really makes a difference!

ive decided to go with the lime green for the background, BUT since i made it in layers its a simple click + alt+Backspace away from changing the background to a different color (hafta love photoshop hotkeys) so i'll make custom skins for anybody who would prefer my skin in a different color then the green, it's so easy to change the color it wouldnt be any hassle, so if you want my skin in a different color then green, let me know, ill change it and post it up fo ya, just hafta finish the skin first, ive run into a few little problems that im having trouble trying to fix, but ill get it, dont you worry, but its 1am now so i hafta do my homework, hopefully wont take me long or im not waking up for school tomorrow, which would be bad for finals, ok now im ranting, ok g'night guys

I like that alot, nice work,

theres only one problem that i can see,
on the eq, the bottom of the preamp slider is going thru the grey bar the other sliders are not, this could cause an overlay problem and the preamp slider will look out of place,

i'd either drop the bar a little bit 1 pixel,

or end the bar and turn it down at the end of it

K I'm finished but I got that same .WSZ problem again, when you slectt on Winamp the name is "XG-13.wsz" and all I want is XG-13, not the .wsz, and the fiel extension is still .zip, full file name is XG-13.wsz.zip

What th hell am I doing wrong? It's really frustrating

File size is to big to attach, and I'm to lazy to upload it so you can see, so if you tell me how to fix this .WSZ problem, then I'll put it on here for download, it all finished

if you are using win xp, then go start>run>cmd.exe, If you put your zip file on the desktop, just follow this:
type -
cd desktop
ren [skinname].zip [skinname].wsz

otherwise you will have to use the cd and cd .. commands to get to the directory the skin is in, this can get messy if you don't know what you are doing though...
