Does Any One Know How To Solve "Lights Out" Puzzles?

Hello, my name is Lucos... You may remember me from such posts as "A world without winamp" and "Winamp as a religion!!"

Now I have posted this one. I come to you people in search of answers and help...

I have recently dug out of my drawers "Lights Out" you know!! the 5 x 5 LED puzzle!!

Well I can't seem to solve half the puzzles anymore!! And Am dead stuck... does anyone know any tips to get out of sticky situations like this...

Does it reverse only those directly horizantal and vertical or all surrounding lights?
Edit: Also, does the light you press reverse also?

Ok, just for you Mr Bonj, here is a basic crash course in Lights Out. NB o means light "off" x means light "on".

If you have the following light arrangment...

0 0 0 0 0
0 0 X 0 0
0 X X X 0
0 0 X 0 0

and you pressed the middle one all the lights go out... game done.... However it is not as easy as that!! The first level on lights out is like this...

So I will complete this puzzle step by step, to give you an idea of how to do these!!... little o or little x is the one being pressed!

I hope this gives you an idea on how to solve these types of puzzles... perhaps someone could create a winamp plugin game like that?!! However it gets complitated when you have a level like this...

So in my spare time, as promised... I have created a Pascal version of Lights Out on the simplest level!!! Text interface, and a board you setup your self!!! And yes, I will try to improve it. Anyone want the source code?
