time and restore plugin and aac files
Hi
I use the Time And Restore plugin which is working relatively well. I have a mix of mp3 and itunes aac filles. The plugin works great for what i need i.e. when i close and open Winamp it continues at the position i left of. The problem i have is after having played an aac file then closed Winamp, i open Winamp again and the file plays for a few seconds then stops which i don't want. When i do the same with an mp3 file it doesn't play anything until i hit the play button which is what i want. Has anybody noticed this issue with aac files and is there a fix? |

Hi pcalv,
I have not tried this plug-in with aac files. But do you have one or both of the following Autoplay Options enabled; "Delay autoplay until all plugins are loaded" and "Start Winamp paused every time it is loaded"? Windows 10 Home 64-bit v21H2 desktop - Logitech Z906 5.1 speaker system |

the plug-in is just a glorified handling of the jump and play api's Winamp provides. if it's still doing it after checking the options Aminifu has mentioned, then it's likely that something is hindering what the plug-in is trying to do and / or seeking in aac files is taking too long which is the most likely reason for it not working as desired. i have previously had to add in a wma hack for such things, i guess i need to possibly do the same for aac files. and can you confirm that it is specifically raw aac and not aac in an mp4 container?

it's more than likely Winamp's mp4 handling taking longer to process things than would be liked which is then causing the issue being seen. i've made a note about this to look into it and see if i can replicate / improve the handling, though if it's fundamental to how the mp4 handling works then there's not much i'm going to be able to do.

Hi daz, would this be the cause of the delay in streaming mp4.
I get a good 5 or 6 sec delay between download and playback. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ujays/testmusic/testHE.m4a UJ |
