Umlauts not supported

The standard font is not able to display umlauts (äöüß). Will this be fixed in future versions?

Even better, is there a way to include a UTF-8 font?

What "Standard font" Where exactly isn't it showing up right? Winamp supports all unicode characters fine. So, if you are having a specific issues, you are going to have to be a little specific describing it.

Nope, not directly. Winamp displays all ID3 tags with other characters than a-z09-9 and ' with an alternative font when playing it.

Paste my umlauts into an ID3 tag and you'll see it when you play it.

Remember, for MP3s, the ID3v1 tab does NOT support International characters, but the ID3v2 tab DOES. This isn'tr a Winamp issues, that's just the standard.

Believe me, the devs know what I mean. There's a difference between system fonts (pl) and winamps own font (main form/window). Anyway:

Expected functionality. The Dot-Matrix style lettering is only upper-case English letters and some punctuation, it doesn't have international / accented characters. It's not a real font, but an image file Winamp uses.

Therefore, Winamp switched to a font that does in those characters are needed.
